MATERIAL DONATIONS
In addition to the ongoing need for general donations, the Cedar Valley Humane Society often needs specialty items. It’s not possible to list everything, so if you have items to donate that you don’t see listed, please call us at (319) 362-6288.
For your convenience, we have divided our basic wish list into categories. Please feel free to print and distribute the lists as you see fit. Keep in mind that we will update the wish lists as our needs change, so be sure to check back often for our most current needs.
Please take note of the following items that we cannot use:
Newspapers
Comforters (they are too hard to clean thoroughly and are hard on our washers and dryers)
Sheets (both flat and fitted)
CURRENT NEEDS

Cleaning Supplies:
HE liquid laundry detergent (brand doesn’t matter)
Bleach (preferably unscented)
Contractor garbage bags (extra large)
Printer paper (8-1/2 x 11, white)
Ziploc brand 1 Gallon and 2 Gallon Bags
White-Out or other correction fluid or tape
Two-pocket folders (like the kind kids take to school)
Gas and general merchandise: Target, Walmart, Casey’s
Office supply: OfficeMax, Staples
Pet supply: PetSmart, PETCO
Hardware/Farm supply: Menards, Theisen’s, Fleet Farm
Cat Needs
Dry cat food and kitten food (We use Hill’s Science Diet here at the shelter)
Cat litter (scoopable or non-scoopable)
Dog Needs
Dry Dog Food
(We use Hill’s Science Diet here at the shelter)
Puppy food (We use Hill’s Science Diet here at the shelter)
Medical Equipment

Vet wrap (for bandaging)
Frontline flea spot treatment for cats
