During the month of March, CVHS adopted out 227 animals to their forever homes! This is the highest one-month total adoption amount in CVHS’s 117 year history. CVHS began adopting out small animals from the Vinton hoarding case in late February and saw large adoption numbers that month as well.
During March, 184 small animals (birds, guinea pigs, rabbits), 28 dogs, and 15 cats were adopted out through CVHS. After CVHS gained legal custody of the animals, the adoption process began immediately. All 79 birds are now adopted. Guinea Pig and Rabbit adoptions are still ongoing and many more are looking for homes.
